Airbag Recalls

A Subaru recall has been issued for nearly 120,000 model year 2020-2022 Subaru Outback and Subaru Legacy vehicles over concerns they may have been equipped with defective front passenger airbag sensors produced between June 16, 2020, and July 12, 2021. Subaru said it is concerned a capacitor in the front passenger airbag sensors could crack and short circuit, preventing the front passenger airbag from deploying in the event of an accident. Subaru will remedy the issue by having its dealers replace all four occupant detection sensors on the front passenger seats in the recalled vehicles and provide reimbursement to owners for repairs, according to the Subaru Legacy and Subaru Outback recall.

Chrysler is also issuing an air bag recall for 285,000 2018-2021 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 vehicles. FCA US and Stellantis issued the Dodge Charger recall for 217,802 Chargers produced between July 5, 2018, and May 20, 2021. The Chrysler 300 recall includes 67,180 vehicles produced between July 5, 2018, and May 19, 2021. The recall was issued because the inflator for the vehicles’ side air bag inflatable curtain may rupture, preventing air bag inflation. Chrysler will notify customers and dealers starting May 3rd.
