2021 National Fuel Prices
Average national fuel prices have held steady to begin the new year. National pricing is approximately $0.33 cheaper than this time last year, however, $0.09 higher than December 2020.
U.S. gasoline demand in December (per the Energy Information Administration) was at the lowest it’s been since 1998, approximately 8.1 million barrels per day. Reduced economic activity related to the COVID-19 pandemic has caused changes in energy demand and supply patterns in 2020 and will continue to affect these patterns in the future.
