Apple Targets Auto Production in 2024
Apple Inc. continues to pursue self-driving car technology, previously known as Project Titan. Production is targeted for 2024 to produce a passenger vehicle that could include its own next-level battery technology, sources told Reuters. This new technology is anticipated to reduce battery cost while increasing a vehicle’s range. Naturally, Apple declined to comment on its plans or future products.
Even Apple is expected to experience supply chain challenges. When coupled with the ongoing market issues of the pandemic, production could be pushed farther down the line. To put it into perspective, Elon Musk’s Tesla took 17 years before it financially turned a sustained profit producing vehicles. “If there is one company that has the resources to do this, it’s probably Apple. But at the same time, it’s not a cellphone,” stated a source previously involved with Project Titan.
